The East London Virtual Multiskills league is organised by the East London team of Competition Managers. The league offers an innovative way for children between Years 1-4 to participate in a fun and enjoyable multiskills competition against children from other schools. Schools organise a fun multiskills circuit, enter scores onto a simple scoresheet and compete in a league against other schools across East London . Virtual multiskills is an easy way to increase your school's level of inter- and intra-competition for these year groups whilst also improving and developing pupil's FUNdamental skills of balance, coordination and agility in a fun environment.
Each term there are two competitions, one for Years 1 & 2, and one for Years 3 & 4. You can enter as many or as few of the competitions as you wish. To participate in each of the competitions, you must have had at least one class compete a circuit and have submitted your score. Term 1 competition by the 5th December 2008 Term 2 competition by the 20th March 2009 Term 3 competition by the 3rd July 2009 The results of each term's competition will be released 10 days after the above deadlines. To view these results, you will need to visit www.lewishamssp.co.uk /Competitions/Primary School Competitions where you'll find a link to the East London Virtual Multiskills League.
The Virtual Multiskills circuit is made up of six stations and should take an average class size of 30 approximately 45 minutes to complete. The circuit has been developed for 12 young leaders to officiate, preferably Year 6. Each station will have two leaders; one to record the scores for each pupil and the other to be the time keeper. This use of Year 6 leaders will also help to increase the leadership opportunities within your school, which is another strand of the PESSYP Strategy. To link physical education to other curricular areas, we have designed an excel spreadsheet that will allow the Year 6 leaders to input their scores and to work out the schools overall score for each activity. This is not compulsory and scores can be inputted by teachers, SSCo's or other leaders if required.
Once your scores have been inputted, they must then be submitted via email to eastlondonmultiskills@hotmail.co.uk.
